Welcome, Fellow Helpers.

Conferences are filled with learning, connection, and inspiration—but they can also be emotionally full. We absorb stories, ideas, and experiences throughout the day, and sometimes we need a place to process what we're carrying before we can bring it back to the children, families, and communities we serve.

This Creativity Hub was created to help you explore your Creative Support Kit, reflect on your own experience, and discover practical ways to use these tools with the people you support.

Some Prompts to Start

At Group or Camp

“I have a circle of friends for support”

You can layer the circles of support you rely on to make “rings of hugs.” The closest circle can be the ones you trust the most. Kids can add old and new friends made in group or camp. They can weave in family members and beloved teachers, drawn in circles around the sticker with arms extended to look like big warm hugs.

When Things Feel Too Much

“I see…”

Sometimes things can feel overwhelming. One way to help ground and regulate our nervous systems is to notice our current environment and name what is happening. It can be helpful to both kids and adults to call or draw out what they see, one thing at a time, one pile at a time. Simply observing can help to redirect our energy and focus to what is tangible.

At Family Night

“I notice new patterns.”

With loss, there are inevitable adjustments to everyday life including routines, roles, and expectations. Essentially, new patterns form. Making crosshatch marks inside each grid to mimic the sticker helps develop pattern-making, build patience, and focus. Families can creating a pixel-style symbol in the center together to symbolize that love and memory can take on a different form in the midst of much transition.
