Things We Carry: Art, Stories & Connection

  • Gallery 901, Open Studio Project 901 Sherman Ave. Evanston, IL (map)

What do we carry in our hearts—and how can art help us share it? Things We Carry: The Memories, Feelings, and Stories That Connect Us is an intergenerational art exhibition at Gallery 901 inside Open Studio Project in Evanston.

More than 200 young artists from Chicago created four enormous collaborative canvases exploring feelings, memories, treasured things, and stories—especially those that can be hard to put into words. Children and adults are invited to experience the artwork together, hear from the young artists, and add their own mark through interactive creative experiences.

Join the celebration at the Evanston Made First Saturday gallery reception on Saturday, November 7, from 6–8 p.m. It’s a chance for families to make art, share stories, and discover how the things we carry connect us.
